“Upaya” is our guiding principle

Upaya is defined as ‘skillful means’. It is the ability to address each students needs, meet them at their level of development and help them unfold their true nature. Our school is based on the belief that there are many paths to awareness.

Adesh

Adesh

Founder & Lead Teacher

Adesh is the Founder of Kundinyasa School of Yoga, IPC Inspired Purpose Consulting, Director of Retreats for the Mindful Living Group in Maui, and Co-Counder of Rooted Kava Bar in San Diego. Adesh is a pioneer with a revolutinary style of yoga which she has been bringing to students for over 8 years and she has been leading 200hr Yoga Alliance recognized Kundinyasa certifications for the past 7 years. What she is doing differently is introducing the knowledge and practice of Vinyasa yoga (including alignment, modifications, props, adjustments, and sequencing) into the Kundalini Yoga arena. This innovative fusion prepares students bodies to do the Kundalini practices with more precision and ease, thereby allowing them to achieve deeper exalted states.
She has been featured on Fox 5 San Diego and other news outlets, including the Union Tribune, for her innovative Kundinyasa yoga fusion, as well as her conscious bar model. A dedicated yoga practitioner for over 15 years, she studied under first generation senior teachers Sat Jiwan Singh and Sat Jiwan Kaur in NYC at Kundalini Yoga East and received her Kundalini Yoga Certification in 2003. She continued her training under senior teacher Anne Nowell in San Diego receiving her second Yoga Certification with emphasis in the methods of the Krishnamacharya Lineage, primarily Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vini Yoga, in 2008. She has taught thousands of hours of Kundalini Yoga and Vinyasa classes since.
She has a natural gift for mantra and healing and believes very much in the ability of both to heal by changing old vibrational patterns. She is a sound shaman, mulitinstrumentalist and leads regular Sound Temple events incorporating planetary gongs, sacred rattle, harmonium, mantra and medicine songs, singing bowls, hand pan, and ukulele.

Her third passion is business consulting where she uses intuitive listening to help people find their “svadharma” or life purpose and acheive success on their entrepreneurial path offering effective solutions and creative ideas to enhance any area of their business including: product development, logo, design, branding, and innovative marketing strategies to ensure profitability. She has opened and sold two successful Kava Tea bars in San Diego over the last 5 years and is grateful for the opportunity to help people fulfill their dreams.

Leah Aluisio

Leah Aluisio

Leah has practiced yoga since 2003 and was originally trained in Wado Kai (Form of Martial Arts). Her teachings focus on alignment and advanced postures to help others develop their practice in a safe measured fashion. She likes to challenge your practice to new levels through energizing flow sequences, core strengthening, balancing and flexibility.

She was introduced to yoga to help with years of back pain. She found that yoga gave her immediate physical benefits and has lead her to a more mentally and physically balanced life.
